Matthew 28:19-20(RSV): Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”

GodWe believe in the one true, holy, and living God, Eternal Spirit, who is Creator, Sovereign and Preserver of all things visible and invisible. He is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love, and rules with gracious regard for the well-being and salvation of men, to the glory of his name. We believe the one God reveals himself as the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinct but inseparable, eternally one in essence and power.Jesus ChristWe believe in Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, in whom the divine and human natures are perfectly and inseparably united. He is the eternal Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. As ministering Servant he lived, suffered, and died on the cross. He was buried, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven to be with the Father, from whence he shall return. He is eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us, and by him all men will be judged. The Holy SpiritWe believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from and is one in being with the Father and the Son. He convinces the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He leads men through faithful response to the gospel into the fellowship of the Church. He comforts, sustains, and empowers the faithful and guides them into all truth. HOLY SCRIPTURE The canonical books of the Old and New Testaments (as specified in the Articles of Religion) are the primary rule and authority for faith, morals, and service, against which all other authorities must be measured. We long to remain rooted and grounded in the Scriptures as described in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (RSV): All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. Our beliefs as Global Methodists as stated in the Book of Doctrines & Discipline as of January 1, 2025. Children’s Community ChoirThe Choir meets on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15 to 5:00 pm, September-April. Children (K-2) who participate can experience the joy of music through songs, hymns, and special performances while praising and worshiping God.
SonShine Outreach CenterThis organization began in 1987 in a closet here at FMC. Today, the Center operates a local thrift store and food pantry that feeds thousands of needy clients each year. FMC continues to support the Center through donations and representation on its Board of Directors.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) A week-long summer program, VBS allows us to invite children, (PreK-5th grade) in the community into our church and introduce them to Jesus Christ in a fun and immersive way. Also, it allows us to connect with their families and encourage them to engage in church life.
Workers for Christ Here at FMC, we have a group of dedicated men who are willing to do work of almost any kind - especially if it involves being the hands and feet of Christ. They often join with the Texas Ramp Project to build wheel-chair ramps for the disabled or elderly in our county.
Youth Program All junior and senior high school youths, grades 6 thru 12, are welcome. The youth typically meets twice a month on Sundays from 5 to 6:30 for a devotional message, fellowship, games, and more. The primary goal is to help teenagers to grow their faith and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Meals of GraceMeals of Grace Ministry, now in its 7th year, is a vital ministry for FMC homebound members who are no longer able to attend church. Held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, volunteers prepare and deliver a meal to once active members as well as their caregiver. Most volunteers find that a short visit with homebound seniors is a blessing to those who deliver the meal as well as the recipients.
The mission of the Ministry Teams at FMC Madisonville is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.
